China alumina exports plunged 83% YoY in January-February 

SHANGHAI, Mar 24 (SMM) – China exported 30,000 mt of alumina in January-February, down 82.7% from the same period a year ago, showed that latest data from the China Customs. 

The export value stood at 97.39 million yuan, 83.1% lower year on year. 

Separately, China’s exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium semi products came in at 669,208 mt in the first two months of the year, down 25.3% from a year earlier. The export value was 21.5% lower on the year, standing at 12,898.21 million yuan. 

In January-February, China imported some 181,575 mt of unwrought aluminium and aluminium semis, up 114.5% year on year, with the import value at 3,750.31 million yuan, 34.2% higher on the year.
